HydraFacial, hot stone or a gentle express facial? The right choice depends on your skin, your schedule and how much hands-on relaxation you want. This simple guide breaks down three of our most popular facials so you can book with confidence.
Start with your skin, not the trend
Ask yourself three questions: Is my main concern congestion, dullness, dryness or sensitivity? How much time do I have? Do I want visible results, deep relaxation, or both? A short consultation at Liya will help us tailor the treatment and products to your skin on the day.
1. HydraFacial: for congestion and dullness
HydraFacial is a non-invasive treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and hydrates in one comfortable session. It is a good option if your skin feels congested, looks tired, or has visible blackheads and uneven texture.
The treatment works in stages: it lifts dirt and oil from the pores, removes dead skin cells, and infuses the skin with hydrating ingredients. Our Liya Pure Anti-Ageing HydraFacial adds LED light therapy, with red light to support the look of firmer, smoother skin and blue light to help with acne-causing bacteria.
Best for: congested pores, dullness, uneven texture and anyone who wants a fresher look with minimal downtime.
Time: around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment and add-ons.
2. Hot stone facial: for tension and relaxation
The hot stone facial combines gentle facial massage with smooth, warmed stones. The warmth helps ease tightness around the jaw and forehead, while the massage encourages you to slow down. It is less about deep cleansing and more about calming the face and the nervous system.
Warm stones also temporarily increase local blood circulation, which can leave the skin looking refreshed. The treatment finishes with a gentle facial massage and a healthy-looking glow.
Best for: facial tension, stress, jaw tightness and anyone who wants a deeply relaxing treatment.
Time: around 30 minutes.
3. Natural Facial Express: for a quick, gentle reset
The Natural Facial Express is a 60-minute treatment that covers the essentials: deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, a relaxing facial massage, a nourishing mask and a hydrating moisturiser. It is a good all-rounder when you want fresher, smoother-feeling skin without a long appointment.
Because it is gentle, it works well before an event, between longer treatments, or whenever your skin needs a little care but not a strong active treatment.
Best for: dull or tired-looking skin, a pre-event glow, or a regular top-up.
Time: around 60 minutes.
How to choose
- Congested or dull skin: HydraFacial.
- Stress and facial tension: hot stone facial.
- Short on time or sensitive skin: Natural Facial Express.
- Not sure: book a consultation and let your therapist recommend a plan.
If you are preparing for a wedding, photoshoot or special occasion, book your facial a few days before rather than on the morning itself. That gives your skin time to settle and keeps the focus on the event.
Before and after your facial
Arrive with clean skin if possible, and avoid a strong scrub or waxing on the same day. Tell us about any active breakouts, recent peels, pregnancy or medication. After your treatment, keep your routine simple: cleanse gently, moisturise and use sunscreen. Avoid strong acids or retinol for 24 hours, especially after exfoliating treatments.
